Cell Phones
I will not tolerate cell phone use in my class. You may not listen to music during independent work. At the beginning of each class day, I will tell you to put your phones away. If I see your phone at all during class (even if it is just sitting on the desk) I will confiscate it. The first time I confiscate your phone will result in a call home. The second time will result in an admin referral. If you refuse to give me your phone in class, I will press the button and an admin will take your phone as is the school policy. I do not do this to be mean. If you are on your phone during class, you are not paying attention and therefore will not be successful. I want you all to be successful not only in my class, but in life. Please respect this policy!
Notebooks
3-ring, 3 inch binder with 5 tab dividers are required.
Graded every Exam day. Before the exam, students will get all graded work from the unit and we will assemble our binders together. There is always a sample binder you may borrow and look at in order to put your binder together at any time that is not during lecture time and after you have finished all classwork for the day.
What your notebook should look like:
Contains only biology work. Any work in the pockets that is not biology will be thrown out on notebook check day!
