Current event FRIDAY! Woooo. After journaling for 20 minutes, we practiced Osmosis problems and then setup our gummy bear labs which we will finish on Monday. Homework is to finish up the Osmosis Worksheet. QUIZ ON TUESDAY!

Today we started a new unit: Cell Transport and Homeostasis. We took some notes on the cell membrane and transportation and then we did a bubble lab! The lab modeled the properties of the cell membrane! Vocabulary is Due TODAY.
Honors: PRESENTATION DAY! Your brochures are due. After presentations, work on the new vocabulary packet (due tomorrow!)
Standard: Quiz and Notebook check. We reviewed for 30 minutes, then you took your quiz! We worked on vocabulary after the quiz! Vocab due tomorrow! Today we talked about unicellular adaptations, watched some cool videos, and then did makeup work! Reminder about your projects (honors) and your quiz (standard) tomorrow!
Today we talked about Cellular Differentiation, Stem Cells, and Specialized Cells. We watched 2 videos and then worked on makeup work or the study guide. (Honors also had time to work on the project).

Honors: Today we had laptops to continue working on our brochures! We also took a quiz on study island on organelles and the differences between prokaryotes and eukaryotes. Homework is to finish the brochures and complete the Venn Diagram worksheet. Standard: Today we completed the Venn Diagram worksheet and then took a quiz on Study island. Homework is to finish up the worksheet. Honors: Today we were in the media center researching our project topics! Mrs. Ruby explained the expectations and rubric and then we broke into our pairs and began researching our disease. The brochure will be due on the 27th of Sept, but we will only have one more class day of research using computers. Follow instructions on the Brochure Project Handout for more information. There will be a short study island quiz tomorrow!
Standard: Today we created cell analogies! Homework is to complete the first page of the Review Packet and study for the quiz tomorrow! Today we discussed organelles! We filled out a graphic organizer and then colored and labeled diagrams of plant and animal cells. In honors bio, we introduced an organelle project that will be due on the 27th! Homework is to choose the disease you wish to research and the partner you will be working with.
Today we started the CELLS Unit! We took notes on the Cell Theory and Differences between Prokaryotes and Eukaryotes. After notes, we used a short article to complete a graphic organizer. Then we worked on our Prokaryote vs. Eukaryote Vocabulary which is DUE TODAY by 4pm!
Today we learned about microscopes! We completed a foldable and then took short notes on the parts of a microscope. After learning about the parts of the microscope, we did a lab where we looked at specimens under a microscope and drew what we saw! Homework was to work on the Prokaryote and Eukaryote Vocabulary which is due tomorrow.
